What's on the Can: "Whose works is this? It's yours! This IPA is also yours. Brewed on Wyoming's West Coast with 100% lupulin powder, we hit the cross-fader between old school skills and new school technology, creating a tasty remix to keep your head ringing."
What's on the Website: "Your IPA is 7% ABV and features a light caramel base that plays host to deep earthy flavors mixed with citrus rind and spices, with the smooth and dry finish you’ve grown to love from the House of Melvin. It’s an IPA for everyone, from beer snobs to those with hop phobia: it is the perfect mashup of old school brewing techniques and new school ingredients." Read more here!
Where distributed: As of June 2018, Melvin Brewing distributes to several states. However, I did not find Your IPA in the Pacific NW. Check out the beer finder here!
REVIEW:
Appearance (5%):
Poured slightly hazy dark golden into a pint glass. White head, trace lacing. 4.25/5Smell (25%): Balanced combination of hops, dankness, and grapefruit. 4.5/5
Taste (40%): Hop and dank-forward with balancing grapefruit. More floral hoppy on the back end. 4.5/5
Mouthfeel (10%): Medium-bodied, some carbonation. Some dry tongue. 4.25/5
Overall (20%): An excellent to outstanding IPA. I had this with my dinner (teriyaki chicken), and not only did it pair well, it really brought out more of the tropical bitter notes, like grapefruit. The balance and complementing elements are a major factor in the rating. I've enjoyed pretty much every Melvin beer to date. And 2% of all sales on this beer go to charity. Your IPA is a stellar beer that any IPA fan should get. 4.5/5
Final Weighted Rating: 4.463/5
