REVIEW:
Appearance (5%):
Poured hazy light orange into a pint glass. White head with trace lacing. 4.25/5Smell (25%): Balanced floral and citrus (lemon and grapefruit). 4/5
Taste (40%): Balanced malt, floral, and citrus flavors. Smooth throughout, bitterness remains controlled. Aftertaste tries to give me some more citrus orange. 3.75/5
Mouthfeel (10%): Medium bodied, some carbonation. Some juiciness and some dry tongue. 4/5
Overall (20%): A decent IPA. New Belgium's take on a hazy IPA tends to be more balanced than a traditional West Coast IPA (more bitter notes) or New England-style IPA (possibly more tropical). Given the abundance of hazy IPAs I've had that really made a impression, Voodoo Ranger Juicy Haze unfortunately did not stand out as much. However, you may like this one if you like a more balanced beer with controlled IBU. 3.75/5
Final Weighted Rating: 3.863/5
