REVIEW:
Appearance (5%):
Poured slightly hazy golden into a pint glass. White head, trace lacing on the glass. 4.25/5Smell (25%): Blend of grapefruit, stone fruit, grape, and berry with complementing malt. 4.5/5
Taste (40%): Follows the nose; controlled tropical bitterness throughout, with assertive flavors. Complementing malt enhances the experience. 4.25/5
Mouthfeel (10%): Medium-bodied, good carbonation. Controlled citrus-bitterness, with trace amounts of dry tongue. 4.25/5
Overall (20%): An excellent Double IPA. Although this one was only available for a limited time, I was a fan of Snailbones. Being the lazy panda that I am - and always behind on drinking the new beers I get - it took me over three months to finally try this. Elysian may have been sold to Anheuser-Busch, but from what I have experienced, they are still keeping the quality. Still a good price for a 22 oz bottle, and I'm sure being a local (Pacific NW) brewery helps. 4.25/5
Final Weighted Rating: 4.313/5
