REVIEW:
Appearance (5%): Pours hazy orange-golden into a pint
glass. Unfiltered; sediment at the bottom of the can and glass. White head, trace lacing. 4.25/5Smell (25%): Predominantly coffee. The IPA hop-citrus is there, but not everyone will detect it. 4/5
Taste (40%): As expected, mostly coffee experience throughout. However, the hop citrus tries to assert itself, especially on the aftertaste. Honestly not my favorite from King Harbor; I'm a coffee lover, but the coffee still throws me off when I see and hope for IPA. It is otherwise respectably executed. 3.75/5
Mouthfeel (10%): Medium-bodied, some carbonation. Leaves a dry tongue. 4.25/5
Overall (20%): A decent IPA - if you like coffee. If you're expecting mostly IPA here, you'll be disappointed. It certainly comes as advertised (a coffee IPA), and the more you drink it, the more IPA qualities you may pick up. I'm personally still getting used to the thought of a coffee IPA. I'd like to see the coffee a little less assertive (if possible) to allow the IPA portion to shine a bit more. 4/5
Final Weighted Rating: 3.938/5
