What's on the Bottle: "In the river world, a long swim means you are probably not having your best day. That is all about to change. This Pilsner malt-based beer is a tumult of Amarillo, Centennial, Dureka and Citra hops that will help wash those troubles away. For this time at least, enjoy your long swim; it is about to get epic..."

REVIEW:
Appearance (5%): Poured clear golden into a pint glass. Frothy white head, some lacing. 4.5/5

Smell (25%): Very tropical citrus, with lemon. Stone fruit. Resinous and some dank that complements. 4.75/5

Taste (40%): Follows the nose. Tropical citrus and lemon from start to finish. Another extremely dangerous beer. On taste, the dank may try to overtake the tropical, but still a positive experience. No octane. 4.5/5

Mouthfeel (10%): Medium-bodied, good carbonation. Some juiciness from all the citrus and very easy drinking. 4.75/5

Overall (20%): An outstanding IPA. The best IPA from Kern River I've had to date. Obviously, I remain on the lookout for their acclaimed Citra Double IPA that is supposed to be off-the-chain awesome. The abundance of tropical flavors here made Long Swim an instant winner. Again, very happy with the $9 purchase. We may be spoiled with our beer selection in the Pacific NW, but California also has a lot of gems. If you like tropical and dank IPAs, this is a must-get, in my opinion. 4.5/5

Final Weighted Rating: 4.588/5
