REVIEW:
Appearance (5%):
Pours hazy peach-colored to burnt orange into a tulip glass. Off-white head. 4.25/5Smell (25%): Tropical grapefruit, pineapple, and stone fruit aroma with malty notes. 4.25/5
Taste (40%): Combination of juicy tropical with some dank/octane; the latter tried to take over just a bit too much here. Aftertaste has some tropical citrus. 3.75/5
Mouthfeel (10%): Medium to medium-full bodied, some carbonation. Juicy with slight dry tongue. 4.25/5
Overall (20%): A great to awesome Double IPA. That said, I have preferred the other beers that I've had from Sixpoint. This one didn't stand out against the other hazy IPAs I've had. With the description from Belmont Station, I expected a bit more creamy experience, but it was mostly the dank/octane trying to assert itself against the tropical feel of the beer. But I did like the aftertaste. 4/5
Final Weighted Rating: 4/5
