What's on the Website: "Tasked with bringing cake to our 7th anniversary party, Miracle Mike needed to destroy the laser beam shooting pastries that menace him. He appears to have “borrowed” the birthday surprise from a young wizard that did not die. Dry hopped with seven hops (Idaho 7, Mosaic, Citra, Ella, Galaxy, Centennial, and Nelson Sauvin), this IPA salutes the industry and our customers. Thank you for a wonderful seven years!" Where distributed: As of January 2018, Clown Shoes distributes to many states, mostly in the Midwest and East Coast. Clown Shoes beers are actually found in Oregon, despite not having it listed in blue (as of October). See if Clown Shoes Beer ships to your area!
REVIEW:
Appearance (5%): Pours hazy golden into a pint
glass. Frothy white head, good lacing on the glass. 4.5/5Smell (25%): Mostly pineapple with complementing malt. 4.5/5
Taste (40%): Follows nose. Pineapple/tropical really shines, and malt is in a strong supporting role. Aftertaste is mostly pineapple to me, with some citrus. 4.5/5
Mouthfeel (10%): Medium-bodied, some carbonation. Fairly juicy here. 4.5/5
Overall (20%): An outstanding Double IPA. This one can go toe to toe with their usual Space Cake IPA. I found this one more tropical friendly than the Vic Secret version, and I still want to pair this one with vanilla ice cream. I also thought this paired well with tacos and spicy food. Clown Shoes' labels are some of the best out there, amazing designs. Pretty much the price I expected. 4.5/5
Final Weighted Rating: 4.5/5
