REVIEW:
Appearance (5%): Pours hazy light orange into a tulip glass. White head. 4.5/5Smell (25%): Tropical aroma, slightly resiny and biscuity. 4.25/5
Taste (40%): Balanced tropical peach with resiny experience. Aftertaste has some citrus grapefruit. More subtle and balanced than other NE style IPAs that I've had. Lives up to the name of the brewery. 4.25/5
Mouthfeel (10%): Medium-bodied, some carbonation. Fairly juicy with some dry tongue. 4.25/5
Overall (20%): An excellent IPA. It's rare that I get to this area of Portland (east of PDX airport, but Level Beer has various beer styles and is a welcome addition to Portland's bustling beer scene. I love the gaming concept on its names (for most if their beers), and the artwork inside the building is awesome. This is a good take on the Ne England style, and as noted above, is more balanced than the New England style I've grown to love. I admit to loving the usual tropical burst in my beer, but this is still nice. 4.25/5
Final Weighted Rating: 4.263/5
