What's on the Bottle/Website: "Orderville is an aggressive, fragrant IPA that blends the fruit-forward character of Mosaic hops with the dank, resinous stickiness of Simcoe hops. The resulting beer is immensely rad, with an unmistakably bangin' aroma and a fully saturated hop flavor and finish. The cracker-dry body keeps the focus squarely on the massive, incredibly delicious hop character, inviting your taste buds to join a drum circle of flavor in a magical forest of hops." REVIEW:
Appearance (5%): Poured clear golden into a pint glass. Off-white head and some lacing on the glass. 4.5/5Smell (25%): Soothing tropical (passion fruit, tangerine) and other fruity (peach) qualities, with complementing dank and malt notes. 4.5/5
Taste (40%): Dank immediately. Tropical swoops in right after, and the aftertaste is mostly tangerine. Bitterness of citrus peel lingers in a pleasing way. Not overly bitter, lovely to drink. 4.5/5
Mouthfeel (10%): Medium-bodied, some carbonation. Slightly dry on the tongue. 4.25/5
Overall (20%): An outstanding IPA. Mostly on par with Protocosmos, which I reviewed last September, yet clearly not as bitter (and it is accurately reflected on the IBU). Love Orderville's tropical and dank nature while retaining that easygoing drinkability. Another awesome IPA from Modern Times. 4.5/5
Final Weighted Rating: 4.475/5
