What's on the Website: "Trifecta... A winning ticket? The perfect bet? A Dick Vitale saying? Maybe, but in this case it's about a dark horse collaboration gone golden. A rather full-bodied American IPA brewed with an abundance of Citra hops with a refreshing yet potent nose of citrus and a smooth drinkability with notes of grapefruit and a pleasant sweetness."
REVIEW:
Appearance (5%): Poured a clear golden-orange color. Small remnants of white head reduced to barely a hint of sudsy surface. 4.25/5
Smell (25%): Lovely tropical blend of passion fruit, grapefruit, and tangerine.aromas. 4.5/5
Taste (40%): A pleasing sweet-citrus blast. Clean citrus finish. To me, drinks less than its stated 86 IBUs. Got traces of alcohol when paired with food. Delicious. 4.25/5
Mouthfeel (10%): Medium body, extremely smooth, some carbonation. 4/5
Overall (20%): An awesome IPA. A huge fan of the tropical aromas and flavors this one brings. Definitely one that I would share with my friends more if we could get this in the Pacific NW. Alas, I must either head to the East Coast or get it shipped here. At $2.25 for a single, it's right in line with the price I'd pay for a good microbrew. 4.25/5
Final Weighted Rating: 4.288/5
