What's on the Bottle: "We took the traditional IPA, originally shipped from England to India in the 1700s, and made it bolder and more flavorful -- American style. We've added new varieties of highly aromatic American hops to create a distinctive bitterness profile and incredible hop character. Hop on, hold tight, and enjoy the ride!" Where distributed: Odell Brewing ships to just 11 states in the Mountain and Midwest region. At this time, Odell Brewing does not ship to the Pacific NW. Check to see if Odell Brewing ships to your area!

REVIEW:

Appearance (5%): Poured clear golden into a cup. Very carbonated. About 3-4 mm of frothy white to off-white head when the beer warms up slightly. 4.5/5

Smell (25%): Slight passion fruit and tangerine smell. Detecting floral notes in there as well. Balanced. Leaves me wanting more. 4.25/5

Taste (40%): Wonderful hoppy, passion fruit and tangerine qualities, yet this stays extremely balanced. The aftertaste features a controlled bitterness and retains that fruity nature. No alcohol detected as it nears the realm of Double IPA levels. This is awesome. 4.5/5

Mouthfeel (10%): Medium body, but extremely drinkable and very smooth. Carbonation hits the tongue wonderfully. 4.5/5

Overall (20%): A world-class IPA. Since Odell Brewing does not ship to the Pacific NW as of this blog post, I guess I'll have to find an online store to get this shipped to me. Heck, I'm also giving this points for the awesome label. It's got that luxurious paper label feel that you might see on some Great Divide beers from Colorado. Considering Odell IPA was rated so high on RateBeer and BeerAdvocate (heck, the Alstrom bros gave this a perfect 100), I know I'm not alone in praising this one. A must try. 4.75/5

This blog is simply a place for me to review various craft beers that I can get my hands on. I will generally try to buy the bottle (or can) if possible. Obviously, this is all subjective.

Right now, I am most likely to drink IPAs or Double IPAs, but that can change. If there are any "must-buy" beers out there, I hope to find and review it.

Because I want to deliver quality reviews, I also plan to include additional information in each post, including but not limited to: (1) ABV; (2) type of beer; (3) price; (4) where bought; and (5) some scores from other beer review websites at the time of posting.

Before people start asking, no, I likely will not be brewing my own beer -- although I have considered it before. Lack of patience. :-/
