What's on the Label/Website: "Our all-important, hop-driven quest to deliver the most devastatingly fresh IPA on the planet facilitated a paradigm shift in 2012 with the launch of Stone Enjoy By IPA. Not only did we brew this beer with more than 10 different hops, we brewed it specifically NOT to last. Acclaimed for its groundbreakingly short shelf life, this intense double IPA brought forth a whole new concept of what constitutes “fresh” — guaranteeing fans the ultimate level of hoppiness. This devastatingly dank stash of our dry-hopped, hop-bursted double IPA won’t last long. Get your hands on this dank, golden beauty before everyone else gets wind of it." Read more here!
When brewed? One-time batch. Stone Brewing makes fresh batches of a different "Enjoy By" beer for various special dates. Look for more information here!
Where distributed: Stone Brewing shipped this beer to almost all U.S. states. Unfortunately, it did NOT ship to North Dakota, West Virginia, and Wyoming. Check to see whether this beer could be found in your area!
REVIEW:
Appearance (5%):
Poured clear golden into a pint glass. Very frothy white head; very trace lacing. 4.75/5Smell (25%): Dank, tropical citrus, and pine. As advertised. 4.75/5
Taste (40%): Dank upfront. Predominantly tropical pine for most of the flavor, then citrus on the aftertaste. It is bitter, but not overly bitter. Octane is masked very well. A very delicious, dangerous beer. 4.75/5
Mouthfeel (10%): Medium to medium-full bodied; good carbonation. Creamy on the tongue, leading to a slightly dry tongue. Citrus bitterness will linger. 4.5/5
Overall (20%): A world-class Double IPA. Stone Brewing produces another successful brew in their "Enjoy By" series, something which I have seemingly taken for granted. Like several prior "Enjoy By" beers, this one is promoted as "Devastatingly Dank" and comes as advertised. I totally recommend having this beer with pizza and hot sauce. Stone Brewing has made so many outstanding Enjoy By beers that I honestly cannot say offhand where this would rank with respect to its prior incarnations, but Enjoy By 04.20.17 should be competing for the top spot. 4.75/5
Final Weighted Rating: 4.725/5
