What's on the Can: "We be maltin' and hoppin', our style is poppin... The sounds of old school hip=hop permeate a Thai restaurant in Jackson. Martial art mastery fills the TV screens. We went back to our roots and brewed this IPA practicing the Thaiger Style, using a subtle and stealthy malt yin to balance a bountiful bouquet of hop yang. Caution: This beer has claws."

What's on the Website: "All the aroma and flavor you want from an IPA, but less ABV so you can stay on point like a tiger. A light copper malt base lays the foundation for layers of hop resin, trail mix, stone fruit, and blonde tobacco. Dry hopped with Citra, Mosaic, and Simcoe." Read more here!

Where distributed: Melvin Brewing currently distributes to Wyoming, California, Oregon, Washington, Massachusetts, and New York. Check their BeerFinder for the latest!

REVIEW:
Appearance (5%): Poured hazy light copper into a pint glass. Appears unfiltered, trace sediment at the bottom of the can. Off-white head, some lacing. 4.25/5

Smell (25%): Balanced hop presence with tropical grapefruit, lemon, and stone fruit. 4/5

Taste (40%): Follows the nose. Balanced hoppy tropical. Watery-ish malt in the middle, then finishes wonderfully with more tropical orange and other citrus. Refreshing and still good flavor for 5.4%. 4/5

Mouthfeel (10%): Medium-bodied, some carbonation. Some dry tongue. 4.25/5

Overall (20%): An awesome IPA. One of the lower ABV Melvin beers I can recall having. While it's admittedly (and predictably) low on the flavor for my liking, I did appreciate the wave of tropical towards the aftertaste. 4/5

Final Weighted Rating: 4.038/5
