REVIEW:
Appearance (5%): Pours a hazy peach-orange into a pint
glass. Unfiltered. White head, some lacing. 4.25/5Smell (25%): Predominantly tropical and stone fruit with complementing malt backbone. 4.5/5
Taste (40%): Initial malt backbone, quickly followed by a bunch of tropical, including guava, citrus, and stone fruit. Tropical and malt blend well together. Aftertaste is virtually all tropical. 4.25/5
Mouthfeel (10%): Medium-bodied, some carbonation. Juicy with slight dry tongue. 4.25/5
Overall (20%): An excellent to outstanding Double IPA. This may be one of the greatest names and labels for a beer that I've ever seen. I'm not a huge music guy, but I definitely know about Queen, and Mikkeller made sure to nail the iconic pose and clothing from one of Freddie Mercury's most famous concerts (Wembley 1986). The beer also was a damn good one. Highlights the tropical and a good malt backbone to reinforce the 9% ABV. And yes, I'm listening to Queen as I drink this beer. 4.5/5
Final Weighted Rating: 4.363/5
