What's on the Website: "Hazys come and hazys go, but none have this much heart. With tropical and fruity aromas, this hazy IPA finishes smooth. Hazy Hearted IPA. Finally."
Where distributed: As of 2024, Bell's Brewery ships to several states. In Hawaii, it might be unlikely, but I saw this at the Kahala Mall Whole Foods. In 2021, founder Larry Bell sold the company to Lion.
REVIEW:
Appearance (5%): Pours hazy golden into a pint glass. White head, lots of sediment suspended in the beer. Virtually no lacing. 4.25/5Smell (25%): Fairly balanced fruity, dank, and malt notes, leaning more towards the fruity. 4.25/5
Taste (40%): More malt and dank to start, then a wave of citrus tropical that lasts into the aftertaste. 4/5
Mouthfeel (10%): Medium-full bodied, some carbonation. Juicy and slightly malty with virtually no dry tongue. 4.5/5
Overall (20%): An awesome to excellent IPA. It's been years since I've had a Bell's beer, but while shopping with my parents, I stumbled upon a Bell's Variety Pack. It included the flagship Two Hearted Ale, which I've had and reviewed before, but it also had three other beers to try, and Hazy Hearted is the first of three. Off to a great start here, big fan of the fruity tropical experience. 4/5
Final Weighted Rating: 4.125/5
