What's on the Website: "Big Hearted IPA is an Imperial IPA featuring citrus, and berry hop aromas with slight bitterness. We have been very intentional about honoring the Two Hearted IPA legacy when creating Big Hearted and it was imperative that these new “Hearted” beers would sit alongside our iconic Two Hearted IPA and be equally enjoyed for their perfected flavor profiles. Growing the Two Hearted brand family has been a long-term goal at Bell’s, and we couldn’t be more excited to share Big Hearted with our IPA fans and expand upon Two Hearted’s longstanding heritage."

Where distributed: As of 2024, Bell's Brewery ships to several states. In Hawaii, it might be unlikely, but I saw this at the Kahala Mall Whole Foods. In 2021, founder Larry Bell sold the company to Lion.

REVIEW:
Appearance (5%): Pours clear dark golden into a pint glass. White head, virtually no lacing. 4.25/5

Smell (25%): Balanced malty citrus-berry experience. 4.25/5

Taste (40%): Octane-forward but otherwise follows the nose to start. Assertive malt, citrus, berry to match at the start. Aftertaste brings out more malt-citrus-berry. 4/5

Mouthfeel (10%): Full-bodied, some carbonation. Malty with some dry tongue. 4.25/5

Overall (20%): An awesome to excellent Double IPA. The second of three IPAs from Bell's that I've never had before, this still drinks fairly dangerous for 9.5% because the citrus and berry get highlighted so well. The octane is more noticeable as the beer warms, but if you're seeking a stronger IPA, this is a great one to try. 4/5

Final Weighted Rating: 4.1/5
