We all like a nice, clear, snappy and flavorful West Coast IPA. But how do we make it more? We can make it more IPA (just look at all those hops we put in it), we can make it more Coast (we've been all over this coast tasting every delicious beer that we could get our hands on). But how do we make it MORE West? Brew it in Astoria, of course.

Westmore is a sharp and fruity West Coast IPA from Oregon's most west brewery."

Hops: Apollo, Simcoe, Strata, Motueka, Columbus Cryo

Malts: Linc Buzz, Rahr Pils, Dextrin Weyermann Acidulated

Yeast: WLP001

Where distributed: Fort George generally distributes just in the Pacific Northwest.

REVIEW:

Appearance (5%): Poured clear golden into a pint glass. White head, sudsy surface, virtually no lacing. 4.5/5

Smell (25%): Pleasing citrus with complementing, balanced hoppy-dank notes in the background. Predominantly fruity. 4.75/5

Taste (40%): Follows the nose. Balance of citrus, citrus peel, and pine-hoppy to start, then a second wave of citrus. A bit more flavor when colder, felt slightly diluted as it warmed up. Not much aftertaste, but mainly citrus peel. 4.25/5

Mouthfeel (10%): Medium-bodied, some carbonation. Juicy at first, then a dry tongue. 4.25/5

Overall (20%): An excellent to outstanding IPA. It started very epic on the nose when I first had it, then eventually tapered to "just" a fantastic brew as the beer warmed up over time. Still a great release and one that I'd still be in danger of drinking all day. 4.25/5
