What's on the Can: "Windfall: an unexpected gain or piece of good fortune. A few years ago our island was hit by a windstorm that nearly ruined our batch of IPA. It still tasted great, but just wasn't to specifications. So we saved the batch by adding pink grapefruit, and thus created a whole new beer. This happy accident of hops and fruit, harmonizing into a fantastic citrus IPA, soon grew to be one of our best loved beers!"

Where distributed: As of 2021, Bainbridge Brewing distributes within Washington state.
REVIEW:
Appearance (5%): Poured clear golden into a pint glass. White head, trace lacing. 4.25/5

Smell (25%): Light citrus grapefruit, as advertised. 4.25/5

Taste (40%): Pink grapefruit from start to finish. Could initially be mistaken for grapefruit soda, at least until more of the general beer characteristics (i.e. slight malt) come in on the back end. Very pleasing and easy-drinking. 4.25/5

Mouthfeel (10%): Medium-bodied, some carbonation. Juicy with some dry tongue. 4.25/5

Overall (20%): An excellent IPA. I'm sure this is at least related to the Windfall Grapefruit IPA that I had over two years ago, if not the same batch under a different name. If so, I somehow love it more now. I remain a big fan of grapefruit IPAs. 4.25/5

Final Weighted Rating: 4.25/5
