Beer Name: Big Papaya
Brewery: Great Notion Brewing (Portland, OR)
ABV: 6%

Where bought: Unknown
Price: Unknown, gift from a friend. But there's a $21.49 sticker on there, so likely part of a 4-pack.

Date Canned: January 30, 2020
Date Drank: April 10, 2020
When brewed/released? Limited-time or rotating beer. Also known as I Love it When You Call Me Big Papa(ya) when first released.

What's on the Can: "To all the ladies in the place with style and grace.... I Love it When you Call Me Big Papa(ya) is a small batch Sour Ale aged on...yup you guessed it. Papaya!"

Where distributed: Great Notion Brewing currently self-distributes their beer. They do can releases (4-packs of 16 oz cans) at their NW location, and otherwise may sell leftover 16 oz cans or 32 oz crowlers at their NE Alberta taproom. Of course, the COVID-19 pandemic put a halt to dine-in services.

REVIEW:
Appearance (5%): Poured slightly hazy dark golden into a pint glass. Possibly unfiltered, sediment in the beer and at the bottom of the can. Pink hue on the head, virtually no lacing. 4.5/5

Smell (25%): Wonderful papaya aroma with complementing tart notes. 4.5/5

Taste (40%): Assertive tart papaya from start to finish, yet refreshing throughout. 4.75/5

Mouthfeel (10%): Medium-full bodied, good carbonation. Dry tongue but refreshing at the same time. 4.25/5

Overall (20%): An outstanding sour ale. The tangy papaya experience leaves me wanting to go back for another sip. Refreshing and addicting. Another amazing brew from Great Notion. 4.5/5

Final Weighted Rating: 4.575/5
