What's on the Can: "You know that guy that goes to Hawaii all the time? And then when he comes home he tells everyone it's pronounced Ha-vi-ee, calls everyone 'Haole', and throws Chakas (shakas) around for the next 2 months? Well, this beer is kinda like that, except it won't make your friends avoid you. Brewed with Mosaic, Simcoe & Falconer's Flight Hops & malts from the UK, Tropic Pines will keep you running on island time even when there is mud outside and the snow is piling up in your driveway."

Where distributed: Bend Brewing distributes within Oregon; unknown if they distribute to other Pacific NW states.

REVIEW:
Appearance (5%): Poured hazy golden into a pint glass. Unfiltered. White head, trace lacing. 4.25/5

Smell (25%): Tropical lemon and pineapple, with complementing malt and hoppy notes. 4.25/5

Taste (40%): Tropical-forward experience from start to finish. Juicy and refreshing. Mutes any real bitterness despite it saying 65 IBU. 4.5/5

Mouthfeel (10%): Medium-bodied, good carbonation. Extremely juicy. 4.5/5

Overall (20%): An excellent to outstanding IPA. This one is probably in that hazy hybrid category, combining West Coast and East Coast influences. The tropical is the star and I'm a big fan of the refreshing characteristics. 4.5/5

Final Weighted Rating: 4.425/5
