REVIEW:
Appearance (5%):
Pours hazy golden-orange into a pint glass. Unfiltered. White head; some
lacing on the glass. 4.25/5Smell (25%): Predominantly sweet tropical citrus lemon-tangerine. 5/5
Taste (40%): Follows the nose. Complementing citrus hop bitterness. Aftertaste remains potent citrus tangerine. Very easy drinking. 4.5/5
Mouthfeel (10%): Medium-bodied; good carbonation. Extremely juicy with no dry tongue, probably one of the best ones I've had. 5/5
Overall (20%): An outstanding IPA. Notable backstory here: I took a New England trip in Summer 2017 and I saw Lord Hobo's Boom Sauce on a shelf at a liquor store in Billerica, MA. I was torn between this one and Revival Brewing's You Thirsty? IPA. I opted for the latter and was pleased with my choice, but didn't think I'd see any of Lord Hobo's options again. You could imagine my surprise when I saw another opportunity to grab this beer. So perhaps it was meant to be. And a heck of a buy it was. Everlasting citrus and very drinkable for 7.8%. Some New England-style IPA fans (but West Coast IPA haters) could consider this too bitter, but for me it's just about ideal. 4.5/5
Final Weighted Rating: 4.663/5
