What's on the Website: "This IPA has some fruity and citrusy notes, but is a lighter option over our long time favorite Oregon Sunshine."
What's on the Can: "Drink in the view on Lookout Mountain Road and explore the most breathtaking PNW backcountry with Lookout IPA. A rugged malty foundation balanced by a dry hop blend of Idaho #7, Mosaic and Cashmere. Golden colored and medium bodied with fresh notes of stone fruit. Bright citrus aromas impart a clean finish. Lookout! Adventure is on the horizon!"
Hops: Nugget, Amarillo, Cascade, Idaho #7, Mosaic, Cashmere.
Where distributed: Silver Falls likely stays local for their beer distribution. They moved into a larger space in Spring 2021 and upgraded their equipment to brew more beer.
REVIEW:
Appearance (5%): Poured clear golden into a pint glass. White head, some lacing. 4.25/5Smell (25%): Tropical pine, stone fruit, and grapefruit with complementing malt. 4.25/5
Taste (40%): Balanced pine, grapefruit/stone fruit, and malt. Citrus peel and slight malt on the aftertaste. Frankly, a nice, typical IPA. Slightly on the sweeter side and not as bitter. 4/5
Mouthfeel (10%): Medium-bodied, some carbonation. Some dry tongue. 4.25/5
Overall (20%): An awesome IPA. Lookout represents the everyday, well-executed IPA that I'd have first-time IPA drinkers try. It's not as bitter and wonderfully balanced. For me, it otherwise would get lost in the shuffle of great beers I've had. 4/5
Final Weighted Rating: 4.1/5
