What's on the Website: "We thought, we fought, we took votes, we did blind tastings, we did sniff-tests and lab-tests, color-tests, speed-tests, and intelligence-tests. After months of conversation with our friends at Ravenna & Alvarado Street, nostalgia for the bygone days of a more see-through beer had won – or so we thought."
Where distributed: Fort George generally distributes just in the Pacific Northwest.
REVIEW:
Appearance (5%): Poured clear to very slightly hazy golden into a pint glass. Frothy white head, some lacing. 4.25/5Smell (25%): Lively citrus/citrus peel, some guava notes. 4.25/5
Taste (40%): Pleasing fruity sweet-bitter citrus, with complementing piney and hoppy. There's a "spice" flavor of some type that lingers on the back of the throat. Good citrus and citrus peel on the aftertaste. 4.5/5
Mouthfeel (10%): Medium-bodied, some carbonation. Very slight dry tongue. 4.25/5
Overall (20%): An excellent IPA. Fort George stepped it up a notch this year when releasing two 3-Way IPAs in its collaboration. The brewers did a wonderful job here on containing the bitterness and even adding a very mild spice-type of kick on the back end. Although I didn't get to try the New England version, I'm grateful to have tried this one. 4.25/5
Final Weighted Rating: 4.35/5
