What's on the Website: "Back in da haze of the TMU days, we were dropping fresh loads of hops into our beers after the boil, and even more in the fermenter. People thought we were crazy: why would you waste so much money and hops?! Turns out we were making beer from the future. Now they call it 'cold pooling' and 'DDH.' My how times have changed, but we're still blasting IPAs with juicy flavors for the hopheads, things are just a bit hazier.... We laid down this crushable groove with Sabro, Citra, and Mosaic hops, bringing tropical flavors to keep your taste buds dancing."

Hops: Sabro, Citra, Mosaic.

Where distributed: Melvin Brewing currently distributes to Wyoming, California, Oregon, Washington, Massachusetts, and New York. Check their BeerFinder for the latest!

REVIEW:
Appearance (5%): Poured hazy golden into a pint glass. Unfiltered, sediment more at the bottom of the can, so the final pour should give you more haziness. White head, almost no lacing. 4.25/5

Smell (25%): Blend of tropical malt, possibly a mix of berry, grape, and stone fruit. 4.25/5

Taste (40%): Some malt and berry/grape to start. Slight hop bitterness detected, but not overwhelming. Pleasing citrus aftertaste. 4/5

Mouthfeel (10%): Medium-bodied, some carbonation. Juicy and creamy with slight dry tongue. 4.25/5

Overall (20%): An awesome IPA. Almost like with Tropical Lampin', Back in Da Haze is a wonderful beer that, to me, seems like just another beer in the epic Melvin lineup. It is certainly crushable, but I seem to crave the full-bodied hop flavors that the signature beers bring (i.e. Melvin IPA and 2x4). 4/5

Final Weighted Rating: 4.1/5
