What's on the Can: "Dear Enjoyer, Two brewers walk into a Thai restaurant in Wyoming, day drink, and write a recipe. The beer that came from that day started an empire. Well, not really...but the beer was exactly what they wanted. So they made a hell of a lot more of it. Look at you Melvin, all grown up."

What's on the Website: "You can't always get what you want...but sometimes you get lucky. It's all about the right hops, at the right time. This is how Melvin Grew Up. Fruity, Intense, but not bitter like the rest of them. As long as you don't take advantage, we think this is the hoppiest relationship you could ask for...hold my hand?" Read more here!

REVIEW:
Appearance (5%): Poured clear golden to copper into a pint glass. Off-white head. Some lacing left on the glass. 4.5/5

Smell (25%): Amazing tropical with complementing malt. Passion fruit, grapefruit, and pineapple. I want to keep that glass under my nose. 5/5

Taste (40%): Malty and even slightly floral hoppy upfront. Burst of tropical accompaniment through the aftertaste, namely the grapefruit. Pretty much the way I want to experience fruity and hop tropical. Simply delicious from start to finish. 4.75/5

Mouthfeel (10%): Medium-bodied and refreshing, a bit sticky on the tongue to make the juiciness and hops stay around longer. Slight carbonation. 4.75/5

Overall (20%): A world-class IPA. I'm so happy that Melvin Brewing has decided to can and bottle their beers and ship them our way. They've clearly won awards for a reason, and in 2015, they won Small Brewpub of the Year at the Great American Beer Festival. If you get a chance to try Melvin Brewing's beers, do it. They rock. 4.75/5

Final Weighted Rating: 4.8/5
