REVIEW:
Appearance (5%):
Poured a clear copper-amber into a pint glass with perhaps 1-2 mm of frothy off-white head. Leaves very little to no lacing. 4/5Smell (25%): A good balance of tropical-hop, malt, and pine. Slightly more emphasis on the tropical. 4.25/5
Taste (40%): Fairly balanced attack of tropical-hop (orange and grapefruit), malt, and pine flavors. Slight bitter aftertaste that stays controlled. 4.25/5
Mouthfeel (10%): Medium body with slight carbonation on the tongue. A nice, sharp bitterness that lingers without getting too overwhelming for me. 4.25/5
Overall (20%): An excellent Double IPA. Another local brewery that I have been to in the past to enjoy their food and year-round Orbiter IPA. For me, at least a must-try in terms of having the orange and grapefruit aroma and tropical flavor. Ecliptic gets another solid thumbs up from me with Pollux. Certainly reasonable at $7.49 for a 22 oz. bottle. If only this were year-round.... 4.25/5
Final Weighted Rating: 4.238/5
