What's on the Can: "It's not a bird,,, it's not a plane... it's Super Ripe! We took RIPE, and made it bigger and badder! Super Ripe is double dry hopped with massive amounts of Citra hops, and an addition of Vic Secret hops from Australia."

Hops: Citra, Vic Secret.

Where distributed: Great Notion Brewing currently self-distributes their beer. They do can releases (4-packs of 16 oz cans) at their NW location, and otherwise may sell leftover 16 oz cans or 32 oz crowlers at their NE Alberta taproom. COVID-19 and the West Coast fires affected dine-in service in 2020.

REVIEW:
Appearance (5%): Poured hazy orange into a pint glass. Unfiltered, sediment in the beer and at the bottom of the can. White head, virtually no lacing. 4.5/5

Smell (25%): Pleasing tropical papaya and mango. 4.5/5

Taste (40%): Resinous and slight octane at the start, then a tropical wave of stone fruit/papaya rounds out the experience. Citrus-filled aftertaste with a bit more octane. 4.5/5

Mouthfeel (10%): Medium-full bodied, good carbonation. Very juicy with slight dry tongue. 4.25/5

Overall (20%): An outstanding Double IPA. I've had this one - and RIPE - in the taproom before, but only got to reviewing Super Ripe now on the blog. Typical NE-style IPA with added punch. You'll know it's 9%, but the tropical flavor you get at the end makes it all worth it. 4.5/5

Final Weighted Rating: 4.475/5
