What's on the Website: "A huge, hoppy brew that will test your sea legs. Our Dorado Double IPA immediately hooks you with massive hops that never stop. Mash hopping, kettle hopping and dry hopping makes this beer a serious hop lover's prize catch. It's an amazingly drinkable, award-winning beer that's as beautifully balanced as it is big."
REVIEW:
Appearance (5%):
Poured hazy, cloudy orange/amber. Sudsy on top; off-white head. 4/5Smell (25%): Citrus-malty with pineapple experience. Still refreshing and hoppy. 4/5
Taste (40%): Citrus-malty, some dankness. Lovely pineapple flavors. A controlled bitterness and very slight on the alcohol flavor. Well done for 10%. 4/5
Mouthfeel (10%): Medium to full body, yet very drinkable for 10%. Coats the tongue very well. Good carbonation. Goes down fairly smooth for a Double IPA. 4/5
Overall (20%): A solid Double IPA. Probably about right in terms of price for a single 12 oz. bottle. While I would generally default to the Sculpin or Grapefruit Sculpin before this one (mainly since the single IPAs are way more refreshing), this is still a very good choice if you want something stronger. 3.75/5
Final Weighted Rating: 3.95/5
