Enjoy... enjoy... and enjoy again, fellow hop heads."

What's on the Website: "A new year brings a new brew for us. This one is a bold, hoppy double IPA — a Rogue like you’ve never tried before: Straight Outta Newport. Dedicated to the Oregon Coast, Rogue’s home and world headquarters, Rogue brewers were challenged to create a uniquely West Coast beer using Citra, Mosaic and Comet hops.

At 8.7% ABV and 73 IBU, Straight Outta Newport features a bold and flavorful profile, bursting with aromas of grapefruit, tangerine and orange, fruity hop notes and a juicy finish.

Straight Outta Newport’s label art is a nod to Rogue’s seaside hometown, with an image of the iconic Yaquina Bay Bridge as well as the Rogue brewers who collaborated on crafting the one-of-a-kind beer.

'We’re Oregon Coast through and through,' said Rogue President Brett Joyce. 'We wanted to pay homage to our hometown with a world-class beer that dared to push the limits.'

REVIEW:
Appearance (5%): Poured hazy golden orange into a pint glass. Unfiltered. White head, trace lacing. 4.25/5

Smell (25%): Complementing blend of malt, pineapple, grapefruit, and other citrus. 4.5/5

Taste (40%): Hop and malt-forward with complementing pineapple, grapefruit, and other citrus. Octane eventually presents itself, along with more malt. Aftertaste engulfs the mouth with more citrus essence. Full of flavor. 4.5/5

Mouthfeel (10%): Medium-to medium-full bodied, good carbonation. Slightly dry on the tongue. 4.25/5

Overall (20%): An excellent to outstanding Double IPA. I kept putting off drinking and reviewing this beer because I kept buying and reviewing others, but I'm very happy with getting this one. The malt and the tropical work so well here. I think Rogue should brew more beers like this in the future. 4.5/5

Final Weighted Rating: 4.463/5
