REVIEW:
Appearance (5%): Pours black into a taster glass. Tan head, some lacing. 4.5/5

Smell (25%): Mostly roasted coffee with chocolate, vanilla, and maple syrup. Syrup is way more subdued here than its famed Double Stack counterpart. 4.5/5

Taste (40%): Follows the nose; maple syrup also subdued on flavor, but certainly more balanced (akin to a typical Imperial Stout) as a result. Octane kept in check wonderfully. Ridiculously easy-drinking for 12.5%. 4.5/5

Mouthfeel (10%): Full-bodied, some carbonation. Velvety on the tongue. 4.5/5

Overall (20%): An outstanding Imperial (Triple) Stout. I applaud Great Notion for a tasty, more boozed-up version of its famed Double Stack. I just realized I have never officially rated Double Stack on this blog, but if I did, it would be at least a 4.75 overall, perhaps higher. I still enjoy Double Stack more for the memorable maple syrup aroma and flavor, while Triple Stack didn't have that same effect. Still, the drinkability here is top-notch. I hope they bring it back with more maple. 4.5/5

Final Weighted Rating: 4.5/5
